* Assisting residents in learning job skills and aquiring employment.
* Opening the door to a new way of life.
In order to become a resident for Room For Ruth, each applicant must complete an Application for Residency.
Room For Ruth is supported by charitable gifts, donations, and grants. We are classified as a public charity as the largest percentage of support is received from individuals in our local community. Grants will be applied for when the terms and usage can benefit the established programs of Room For Ruth. Efforts to raise funds will be enhanced by the use of newsletter mailings, presentations to civic, social, and church related groups, personal solicitations, and public service announcements in local media.
We accept real property, securities, and automobiles as donations when it does not create an undue burden to Room For Ruth. We reserve the right to refuse donations if usage restrictions are applied or disposition of the donation will cause undue burden.
While living at Room For Ruth, the residents will be applying for jobs, communiting to worksites and classes, doing household chores, maintaining the yard. To help keep all these activities in full swing the following items are needed:
Four bicycles and bicycle locks
Carpet cleaner and shampoo
Vacuum
Wheel-barrow
Weed-whacker
Rake and Shovel
If you use it.. we probably do too. We will always have need for everyday house hold items:
